Ramon Guillermo R. Tuazon is the Secretary-General of the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC), a UNESCO-accredited international NGO of communication professionals. Based in Manila, he brings over 35 years of leadership experience in strategic communication, media development, education, and policy advocacy across Asia. His work spans collaborations with multilateral organizations, government agencies, civil society, and academic institutions.

He served as Communication and Information Specialist at the UNESCO Antenna Office in Yangon (2012–2014; 2020–2024) and has held various roles within UNESCO, including serving as the Regional Director’s representative to the UN Country Team in the Philippines. A leading advocate of Media and Information Literacy (MIL), he has co-authored and co-edited major UNESCO publications and contributed to global and national MIL curricula and competency frameworks. He also successfully lobbied for the integration of MIL in the Philippines’ basic education curriculum.

Mr. Tuazon is a former president of the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) and long-time chair and member of CHED technical bodies for communication and graduate programs. As a consultant and project leader, he has supported a wide range of national and international initiatives on media freedom, education reform, governance, judicial and environmental communication, and humanitarian response across the Philippines and several Asian countries.
