Prof. Nivedita Das Kundu is a distinguished academic, university professor, and foreignpolicy analyst specializing in international relations, strategic security studies, and geopolitical dynamics across Eurasia and South Asia. She currently serves as a Professor in The Department of International Relations at the Uzbekistan State University for World Languages in Tashkent, where she teaches and supervises students in International Relations and Diplomacy while contributing to advanced research on global politics, regional cooperation, and security studies. Prof. Kundu’s scholarly work focuses on regionalism in Central Asia, multi-vector foreign policy strategies, and evolving geopolitical alignments involving major powers such as Russia, China, India, and the United States. Her research bridges theoretical frameworks with policy-oriented analysis, offering valuable insights into international security, energy diplomacy, and global governance.
Dr. Nivedita is currently pursuing a Doctor of Science (DSc) in International Relations and Political Science, further strengthening her academic contributions to the field. She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, with academic collaboration from the University of Helsinki, Finland. She also pursued postdoctoral research at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC. Her extensive international academic experience includes teaching and research engagements at prestigious institutions such as York University in Canada, and universities and research centers across Western Europe, India, China, Central Asia, and South Caucasus.
An accomplished author and editor, Prof. Kundu has written two books and edited eight volumes on regional security, geopolitics, and foreign policy. She is actively engaged in academic publications, international conferences, and collaborative research initiatives worldwide. Prof. Kundu is affiliated with leading global think tanks and institutions. She has also contributed to international policy dialogues through her association with the Valdai Discussion Club and the Chemical Weapons Convention Coalition. A regular speaker and member of the CWC-OPCW (UN body). She plays an active role in global security and disarmament discourse. In recognition of her academic contributions, she was awarded the prestigious Pushkin Medal by the Government of the Russian Federation in 2013. A recipient of numerous international fellowships and government-funded research grants, she continues to contribute significantly to academia and policy-making. Her extensive academic contribution and global engagement establish her as a leading voice in international relations, regional security, and strategic studies.
